The course is a vital part of the Manziana Guitar Festival and will begin on the 27th July at 9.00am and will end on the 8th August 2010, in the evening, with the final concert. The lessons will take place in Manziana (Province of Rome, Italy), in the Auditorium “Titina de Filippo”, enclosed in the local school of music.
The course is divided into 13 daily lessons (from 9.00am to 5pm and is limited to 15 (fifteen) ‘hands-on’ participants. Anybody who might be interested in attending the lessons, may do so as auditor student.
Beforehand, the participants will submit a list of musical works which they hope to study, in order to improve their technical and musical analysis, to the Teacher. Four pieces, which will become part of the study programme for each participant, will be chosen from this list.
During the course, for a minimum of 6 evenings, each student will be given the opportunity to perform in public concerts with the aim of testing their abilities, characterial inclinations and communicative gifts in a live context and, day by day, focus on the problems of each individual when performing in public, looking for and finding remedies and solutions.
The performing students will be divided in three groups:
- Those able to perform an individual recital
- Those able to perform a single half of a recital
- Those able to perform a 15/20 minute program
Concerts and performances will be arranged accordingly.
The fee for taking part in the Course is € 450,00 for the 15 ‘hands-on’ students and € 100,00 for the auditor students. The Town Councils taking part in the Festival will offer lodgings to the fifteen ‘hands-on’ participants in the Course.
